Nice to virtually meet you! Here's what you need to know about me.

Bill Perkins, ESource Coach

The mission:  Inspire people to consider changing their profession in order to change their lives!

After college, I entered what some call the “real world” as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force.  After more than 50 years of experience in military service, state government and the corporate world, I am experiencing firsthand the world of entrepreneurship!

Today, as a franchise owner and coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source, I have the pleasure of helping many people like you find success, independence and self-sufficiency through small business ownership.  The goal is to provide coaching using the tools of education, awareness and discovery (in a safe space without outside pressures) to uncover possibilities, options and dreams that are a good fit for you and your family.

In consultation with you I take time to understand your current situation, figure out what you want to achieve at this stage of your career and present possibilities you may not have realized were available to you.  Then, I help you discover how owning a business can transform your life linking you with possibilities that allow you to be in business for yourself but not by yourself.

Here is what you can expect:

  • My service is free and just takes a bit of your time.
  • We will explore ways you can meet or exceed your income and lifestyle goals.
  • After reviewing your background, interests, skills and education, you will be introduced to possibilities that you may not have considered on your own.
  • You will have the opportunity to explore directly with these possibilities without being pressured to buy anything in an environment with an educational and discovery focus.

We’ll have some fun working together, and who knows what might be on the other side of our discoveries!

Work history.

I was born and raised in Southern Illinois and grew up with positive influences from parents, grandparents, a brother, a sister, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  Elementary and High School was in Carbondale, Illinois.  My high school experience had a brief interruption when my Dad took a job in Saigon, South Viet Nam which meant the family moved to Viet Nam for just short of two years.  Upon high school graduation from the American Community School (and in absentia from Carbondale Community) our family return to the States where I entered and graduated from Southern Illinois University at the Carbondale Campus which was home for me.

While in the educational world, I had jobs as a janitor, a lawn service “specialist,”a University employee at their Book Store, a hospital orderly, a first responder on an ambulance crew and even served as a Lay Pastor at a small Church in Baldwin, Illinois.  I graduated from SIU with a degree in Business Management and a Commission in the United States Air Force from the University’ ROTC program

My Air Force career was focused mostly in the ICBM, Nuclear Command Control and Space fields. The Air Force provided an opportunity to earn a Master of Business Administration in Industrial Management from the University of Missouri, and I was fortunate to have commands at the squadron and wing levels along with staff tours at two Major Commands, a Joint Command and USAF Headquarters.

After nearly 30 years in the Air Force, a door opened to enter Missouri State Government. I became the Chief Information Officer for the Missouri Department of Revenue and later the Department’s Deputy Director.

After six years in state government, the path led to the commercial world as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton working in the firm’s Aerospace Market Group on the Cross-Sector Space Team. The team’s work with clients such as the Air Force, NASA and the Department of Commerce was a great learning experience and helpful to clients as well.

Following work at Booz Allen, I joined the team at Revalesio Corporation in Tacoma, Washington.  Revalesio is a small biotech firm with a great future and it was a privilege to work with the team there and to see the firm move products forward from science and discovery into testing and commercial markets.

The next chapter for me is helping others enter the business community and become more self-sufficient through business ownership working as a coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source where I assist individuals and families explore take ownership of their careers and experience the many opportunities available to small business owners.

Coaching highlights.

I’m a Career Ownership Coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source, a nationwide coaching firm that helps people explore the freedom and benefits of owning small businesses. We work with people who may be tired of the ups and downs of the corporate world and are looking for new ideas and new opportunities.  We work with people transitioning from the military to civilian life.  And, we work with people who are looking for what is next after retirement or becoming frustrated with the corporate world.

Throughout my career as an executive leader in and across the military, government and corporate sectors, I have learned that all success is driven through valuing people. Leadership offers a unique opportunity to develop new relationships, maintain existing ones, and reconnect with friends and colleagues from the past.

“I started with just me and one truck, working out of my garage. I now have four employees, and I am in a commercial space. The earnings potential is pretty well limitless at this point. I am busy. I do have to spend time away from my family just as I did before. But now, if I want to stay home and cook my kids breakfast, I can. On nice sunny days, if I want to cut out early to take the kids swimming, I do. I don’t just have weekends to choose from anymore.”

BRANDEN BOWDEN, New Business Owner
